The Qulliit Nunavut Status of Women Council has named Eva Kakolak Avadluk its Wise Woman of the year, in recognition of her efforts to stand up for victims of domestic violence. There were two winners for the Outstanding Young Woman Award: Iqaluit's Joselyn Morrison and Arviat's Charlene Ukutak.
